7 Easy Tips for an Effortless Amalfi Coast Trip<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning a trip to the stunning Amalfi Coast? To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, here are seven handy tips to keep in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 1: Fly into Naples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fly directly into Naples, this will save you time. From the airport, you can easily take a cab or public transport to reach the Amalfi Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I initially flew into Rome and had to take a train down to Naples, followed by an hour and a half taxi ride costing \u20ac120 to reach my Airbnb in Amalfi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 2: Purchase a Sim card<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Having a working phone will allow you to communicate with your Airbnb host and handle any emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 3: Buy water<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I highly recommend picking up a couple of bottles of water at the airport and keeping them in your backpack. It’s always good to be prepared. Also, don’t miss the opportunity to try the local sparkling water called Fiuggi\u2014it’s refreshing. If you happen to visit Italy, please bring me back a case, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 4: Purchase bus tickets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As soon as you arrive in Amalfi, head to a convenience store and buy your bus ticket, or multiple tickets if needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made the mistake of waiting for the bus at the bus stop near my Airbnb, but it passed right by me. I later discovered that you must buy a bus pass each time, and they don’t accept cash on the bus. On the bright side, the 30-minute walk to the marina was incredibly beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 5: Be aware of early restaurant closures for breaks before dinner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As you step into the square, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful fountain and a staircase leading up to a church. It’s easy to get caught up in the surroundings, but remember that restaurants in the area close early for breaks before dinner service. During my visit, the first restaurant I went to had already finished serving lunch and was only offering coffee and dessert cakes. Fortunately, I found another restaurant just 10 feet away that was still serving lunch, and I enjoyed my first bowl of pasta there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 6: Check for online tickets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I later discovered the crucial importance of booking tickets online, especially when I reached Rome. In Amalfi Marina, there’s a gorgeous church that you can enter for a fee of \u20ac3. It’s definitely worth it to explore the history and architecture it holds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip 7: Learn basic Italian<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The smiles I received simply by saying “thank you” in Italian were heartwarming. It’s always nice to learn a few words, even if you struggle with pronunciation. It shows your appreciation for their culture and enhances your interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
