{"id":177,"date":"2023-06-11T23:57:59","date_gmt":"2023-06-11T22:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/desertroze.me\/?p=177"},"modified":"2023-08-24T17:39:39","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T16:39:39","slug":"madrid-on-a-budget-affordable-ways-to-explore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desertroze.me\/index.php\/2023\/06\/11\/madrid-on-a-budget-affordable-ways-to-explore\/","title":{"rendered":"Madrid on a Budget: Affordable Ways to Explore"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Madrid is a city full of history and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was my first time visiting Spain and it was a fantastic adventure with lots to discover with each step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paid Tours<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3 places that I would recommend getting tours from are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.viator.com\" title=\"\">Viator<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.com\/s\/experiences?c=.pi0.pk9835339438_113255333253&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjw4ZWkBhA4EiwAVJXwqQJgR1CZhEK1NE04y_R7fJECVg5KMvBkfSTj3b8M-JxLtuANYkL2XxoCJvgQAvD_BwE\" title=\"\">Airbnb<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guruwalk.com\" title=\"\">Guruwalk<\/a> (free tours but tips at your discretion)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For this post I used solely Viator at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">List of Tours <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hop on and Hop Off ($27 +)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My tip is to do the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viator.com\/tours\/Madrid\/Madrid-City-Hop-on-Hop-off-Tour\/d566-2140MADRIDHOPON?pid=P00106442&amp;mcid=42383&amp;medium=link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hop on and hop off bus<\/a> to get the lay of the land so that way if you choose to do you own walking tour it will be easier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note there are 2 lines and I ended up getting a two day pass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are on a budget look at the different lines and pick the one you would enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Segway Tours ($21 +)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Segway Tours have to be the most friendly and efficient way to see any city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are able to see a lot in a short amount of time and they do teach you how to use a Segway if you have never been on one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one that I booked at the time was this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viator.com\/tours\/Madrid\/Segway-Tour-Madrid-monumental\/d566-355117P2?pid=P00106442&amp;mcid=42383&amp;medium=link&amp;medium_version=selector\" title=\"\">one<\/a>. Added bonus was there was a Starbucks in the plaza we practiced in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three Cities in One Day: Segovia, \u00c1vila &amp; Toledo  ($131 +)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a must when you do not have too much time traveling in Madrid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can&#8217;t do anything else then this is the one thing you should save your money for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> To see 3 beautiful cities in one day is incredible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Segovia<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Segovia was memorable because of the amazing aqueducts that you can get up close too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From textbooks to actually seeing them is unreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you continue walking deeper into the city it swallow you up with its architecture and history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the places you visit is Mirador Junto Plaza Reina Victoria Eugenia and this was a place that you won&#8217;t forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Avila<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Avila was interesting since its a city inside a fort but I was still thinking about Segovia as I explored this city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You get to walk around a bit and grab some lunch here so you can relax a bit before you head to the next and final city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Toledo<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Toledo was another amazing city that I wish I could have spent way more time in. As soon as you get close to the city you have to double take at the landscape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is something right out of a dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> You get to walk into deep parts of the city and don&#8217;t forget to take advantage of your free time and shop around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/desertroze.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_8311.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be tired but thankful that this was the tour that you did and you can go to sleep happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Book this one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viator.com\/tours\/Madrid\/Three-Cities-in-One-Day-Segovia-Avila-and-Toledo-from-Madrid\/d566-6874P88?pid=P00106442&amp;mcid=42383&amp;medium=link&amp;medium_version=selector\" title=\"\">here<\/a> and I promise you, you won&#8217;t be dissappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flamenco Show ($42 +, cheaper tickets are available)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the must-dos in the city.
