Aqaba Walking Tour: A Great Way to Explore the City

Aqaba is a vibrant city on the Red Sea coast of Jordan.

It’s a popular tourist destination, thanks to its beautiful beaches, clear waters, and rich history.

There are many things to see and do in Aqaba, and a walking tour is a great way to experience the city.

I stumbled upon GuruWalk while trying to figure out what there was to do in Aqaba on the car ride over.

I was able to find one that worked with the timeframe and booked a tour with Motaz.

The Tour

Our group met at the McDonald’s, which was a 5 minute drive from our hotel.

Once there we started our tour walking towards the beach front.

First, we passed the Sharif Hussein bin Ali Mosque

At the beachfront we saw different shops and you will be called to for boat tours so be aware.

Ask you guide if your interested where to do a boat tour since he will be able to help find the best price for you.

Next, we stopped at Aqaba Fort and were able to see such beautiful views of the coast!

Make sure you have your camera.

As we continued the tour we were able to take in the life of the city.

We experienced walking through the fish market, the tourist shops, and even stopped to grab some local treats.

One of the most memorable events was trying their hibiscus drink (highly recommend).

While walking through the spice market I was able to find some gold shops. Beautiful designs and worth the money for me.

I got some trinkets and was happily satisfied with the purchase.

As we came to the end of the tour that ended midday we went to a hookah lounge where our tour guide went and grabbed us some falafel wraps.

Conversations were flowing, we all were sharing stories of our travels, and getting to know what life is like in Aqaba.

We were even given tips and advice of what more to see in this beautiful city

Tipping

We ended up tipping 25-30 Jordanian Dinar per person.

This was justified, every stop there was food at some point and he went above and beyond.

Conclusion
